We’ve returned from the back 40 acres and for the first time in what feels like 2 months, we can take a moment to chat. Spring is a very busy time on the farm with fields to be readied, seeds to start and over wintering crops to be given a helping hand. And having a phenomenal local supply chain growing for us and for you we always find it the busiest time of year.
At A Bread Affair, we have missed the interactions with many of our supporters on the interweb and on social platforms. But we are back. We are looking forward to renewing our relationships with many of you, with the return of the farmers markets this weekend (May 6-7)and a little more pleasant weather to draw you back to Granville Island.
The kick off to the Farmer’s Market Season is this weekend, but throughout the month of May, we will be seeing you at your local Farmers Market. New for us this year is Ambleside. The market is in a great location, at the foot of 13th Street in West Vancouver every Sunday and the Riley Park Market on Saturdays. South of the Fraser, we will be at Langley, White Rock, Ladner and Steveston. On the north side of the Fraser River, we are back at New Westminster, Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, and Maple Ridge. In the Greater Vancouver area, we will be returning to UBC, West End, Trout Lake, Burnaby, Mount Pleasant, Main Street and Kitsilano.
Granville Island is set for the best summer ever, with great activities for all ages. Of course the water park and the Kid’s Market will appeal to the kids, just as Liberty Distillery or the Artisan Saké Maker might appeal to the adults. The best patio in the city is still the Dockside at the Granville Island Hotel, with its views of False Creek, Downtown Vancouver and the North Shore Mountains. Of course, the best street entertainment in North America performs daily right in front of our bakery on Triangle Square. If you haven’t been to Granville Island yet this year, come on down before the peak traffic in the Summer months. That way you can include Granville Island as part of your plans all summer long.
We’re really really happy to be back.
